The movie starts in Bournemouth, 1885, with Stevenson waking from a nightmare and starting to write his story, but is set in present-day Los Angeles where Dr Henry Jekyll is bringing his experiments to a conclusion with the fatal injection that produces the transformation to Hyde who commits a series of atacks and murders.
